This has something to do with WMU's email addresses. Some users at WMU may experience login problems either in Mendeley Web or desktop. You should be aware of the following shortcomings: I'm sure that there must be an elegant solution, but I'm having trouble finding it.While Mendeley Desktop works well as a reference management system, it does have its limitations. But it's an unwieldy solution at this point. I have had this issue before with reinstalling Mendeley and I always solved it by manually correcting problems. Is there are solution for this? I am afraid to try syncing at the moment since it might propagate some of the errors on my local setup to my web account since the most recent changes were made in the desktop version. I don't want to go through and manually correct these problems. The problem is that I now have a bunch of files in the 'Needs Review' and 'Unsorted' folders in Mendeley Desktop and many of the entries my sorted folders appear to have incorrect fields or are missing the link to the associated pdf files. The files on my computer have not changed as of yet, which is good. When I went to reinstall Mendeley Desktop, I pointed it to my 'Mendeley Desktop' folder (which I had backed up from my previous Windows installation) to watch the folder and to automatically organize files in the same manner as I was doing before. I recently needed to reinstall Windows on my computer. I have been using Mendeley desktop for awhile now and I have all my files sorted automatically by Mendeley and synced.

My question relates to the proper way to reinstall Mendeley Desktop on a new machine.
